starting let me give you small introduction about two important term
which we’ll be using more often ie,
Wifi Hotspot. This
is a trending topic as it let you share internet or wireless data with
other device in a certain diameter. Now first let me clear the term Wifi
and Hotspot.These both are different terms but used collectively.
Hotspot is a physical location which provide you access to internet that means one can access data in a certain diameter(range).
Wifi is a wireless technology which enable computer to interact with other computer in a network.
Two Methods For Creating Wifi HotSpot In Windows 7/8/8.1
- Setup Wifi hotspot in Windows Using CMD [ Without software].
- Create Hotspot for Windows Using Software.
I prefer first option as using command prompt is fun and we don’t
need any software for this purpose.If you are not comfortable With CMD
than you can try

Before starting, I suggest to restart your PC/laptop as to avoid any
unwanted failure or situation which may hinder your process. Though it’s
not necessary but precaution should be taken.
Requirement For Making HotSpot On Windows 7/8/8.1 PC
- Wireless Virtual Network Adapter ( Wlan Card ).
- Internet Connection ( Obvious).
- Wifi enabled device for access this network. ie ( Smat phone or Laptop)
keep your wifi active else you will get error like “resources are not in proper state…”

Wifi Hotspot For Windows 8/8.1 and 7 Through CMD
Step 1 : Open Command Prompt as administrator.This could be done from windows task bar else from your desktop press
window + x and select cmd (admin).
Step 2 : After that Type netsh command : netsh wlan show driver
netsh wlan show driver
Look at the result if it says
: hosted network supported = yes, you can create hotspot in windows

otherwise not
Step 3 : Now type command to set Hotspot Name and Password .
- netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=mak key=wifihotspo
Here ssid is :- Name of Hotspot
key is :- password
Note : Password must be 8 character long or above.
From the above Screenshot it is very much clear, Hotspot Name = Mak, Password = wifihotspot.
Step 3 : Open control panel>>Network and Internet>>Network and Sharing Center
From the above screenshot it is clear, I
have two different networks, One having internet connectivity and other
is my newly created hotspot for windows system.
Bsnl is my broadband Connection having internet connectivity.Now I’ll share this internet with my new created hotspot (Mak).
Step 4 : Click on network having internet connectivity.In my case it is BSNL Broadband.
Step 5 : Open Sharing and select newly created connection name in given the field.In my case it was LOCAL CONNECTION *13. Do check yours.
This step will give internet access to
your hotspot that means you can easily access internet on any wifi
enabled device like Mobile,laptops or Tablets.
Enjoy your Hotspot and connect with other devices and share internet, data or play LAN games like Counter Strike or NFS.
